Story Telling for Libraries
Walking Together is adapted from a story written by Canadian Elder Albert D. Marshall and Louise Zimanyi. Illustrated by Emily Kewageshig.
Walking Together tells the simple story of how we can walk together in a good way, seeing the world with two eyes: one eye is for the wisdom of the First People who were connected to the Land and all living things. The other eye is for us today and our knowledge and responsibility to take care of the Land and all living things.
This story is presented via PowerPoint using the bold and colorful illustrations in the book, narrated by certified forest therapy guide Linda Lombardo.
After the story, we'll go outside and apply this connection in Nature.
Suitable for ages 6-9.
Program length: 45 minutes.
